Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 15, 2025
At Tarkov Kappa Tracker, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Progress Data (Stored Locally)
Your quest progress, hideout items, and collector items tracking data is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the "Share" feature.
1.2 Analytics Data (Optional)
When you accept analytics cookies, we collect anonymous usage data through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, including:
- Pages you visit
- Time spent on the site
- Device type and browser information
- General location (country/city level)
- Referring websites
This data is completely anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally.
1.3 Share Feature Data
If you use the "Share" feature, we store, per profile you choose to share:
- That profile's quest completion status
- A randomly generated share ID (one independent link per shared profile)
- Timestamp of when the share was created
Each profile ("character") is shared separately and can be revoked independently; revoking a link makes its public URL stop working. This data is stored on our server to enable the sharing functionality. No personal information (name, email, IP address) is collected or stored.
2. How We Use Your Information
2.1 Progress Tracking
Your locally stored progress data is used solely to provide the quest tracking functionality. We have no access to this data.
2.2 Analytics
If you accept analytics cookies, we use the collected data to:
- Understand how visitors use the site
- Identify and fix bugs
- Improve site performance and user experience
- Determine which features are most popular
2.3 Authentication (Optional)
If you choose to log in with Discord, we request the identify and email scopes and store the following on our server:
- Your Discord user ID (snowflake)
- Your Discord-verified email address
- A display name (Discord's
global_nameorusername) shown in the site header - Login timestamps
We use this data only to identify your account across devices and to associate your shared progress with your account. Logging in is entirely optional; the site is fully usable without an account.
Account data is kept until you delete your account. When you delete your account — or delete an individual profile — its share links are permanently removed (via ON DELETE CASCADE), and those public URLs stop working (return a 404).
3. Cookies We Use
3.1 Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be disabled:
- Cookie Consent Preferences - Remembers your cookie consent choices so we don't ask you again on every visit. Expires after 1 year.
3.2 Analytics Cookies (Optional)
These cookies are only set if you click "Accept All" or enable Analytics in Cookie Settings. They help us understand how visitors use the site:
- Google Analytics ID - Assigns you a random anonymous identifier to distinguish unique visitors. We cannot identify you personally from this ID. Expires after 2 years.
- Google Analytics Session - Tracks your session (a single visit to the site) to measure how long people stay and what they do. Expires after 24 hours.
- Google Analytics Throttle - Limits how often data is sent to Google to prevent server overload. Expires after 1 minute.
Important: If you reject analytics cookies or click "Essential Only", these cookies will never be set and Google Tag Manager won't load at all.
You can change your preferences anytime by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.
4. Third-Party Services

4.2 Tarkov.dev API
We fetch ammo and item data from the Tarkov.dev GraphQL API to provide up-to-date game information. No personal data is sent to this service.
4.3 Discord (Optional Login)
If you use Discord login, Discord acts as the identity provider and processes your authentication. Your Discord account is governed by Discord's Privacy Policy. We only receive the data described in section 2.3.
